Istanbul turns out to be a new start in the career of musician Ayla Millepied Sen. Upon her arrival in 2015, caught up in the intensity of Istanbul’s nightlife, she met fellow musician and sound engineer Catagay Sen. He ended up becoming her sidekick as well as partner and convinced her to start composing music again.
Her life and heart being split between Turkey and France, she records, discovers and enjoys experimenting and juggling between tones that are as surprising as they are explosive.
She shoots the clip of her song “Istanbul” with young directors, Baris Kefeli and Nuket Taneri.
Ayla refuses to limit herself, whether it is experimenting with languages, style or even collaborating with the Turkish Psychedelic Rock legend and member of the group “Baba Zula”, Murat Ertel. His electric saz resonates in her title “Take me to your leader”. Undisciplined but meticulous wild child, untameable but endearing, she succeeds in sublimating the encounter between French music and Anatolian Psychedelic Pop Rock.”
