Hi! My name is Alona Kovalenko, I am a drummer & sound producer from Ukraine, a member of the duo Krapka;KOMA. Over the past years, my duo has actively toured Europe and performed at festivals and showcases such as Sziget, The Great Escape, Eurosonic, Reeperbahn, and more. A significant experience for me was participating in the opening show of Eurovision in Liverpool in May 2023, alongside a team of outstanding artists from the UK (Stealing Sheep & Natalie McCool) & Ukraine, after which I began working on my own creative endeavors. Inspired by British artists like Massive Attack, Radiohead, Submotion Orchestra, & Bonobo, as well as the contemporary jazz wave blended with electronica, I started a solo project KOMA. It’s a mixture of dreamy ambient textures and intricate rhythms of live drums, influenced by my favorite drummers like Yussef Dayes & Chiminyo.
